Founder Profile

Hello, I'm Imelda Ndomo! One of the fondest memories of my young adult life is from years ago, when I was an undergraduate at the University of Nairobi, majoring in Communication and Literature, and walking to class one morning, I was stopped on the street by a news crew from Nation Media Group. Could it have been the determined look on my face, my bold Kitenge shirt and shorts set or perhaps, my bold stride that made me stand out in a busy Nairobi street that morning? The reporter approached me with a “Hello and, introducing himself, invited me to share my views on the political developments that had gripped the nation in recent weeks: President Mwai Kibaki had disbanded his entire cabinet, stating he would announce a reconstituted cabinet within 2 weeks. It was day 15.

“…the damaging impact of the current political impasse on the economy will linger long after. The uncertainty and tension breeding at the moment does not bode well for the nation…” I said. That same afternoon, President Kibaki announced the new Cabinet. My interview did not air!

My bold commentary on topical issues and moments that have defined recent history spans 18 years and now, and you can catch it all here! Follow along as we go beyond the political headlines and dive deeply into contemporary national, regional and global affairs.
